Hi everyone,
Well Spring is most definitely in the air! It might still be cold, but thank god the sun is starting to come out! Yay!
As we’re all coming out of hibernation and the darkness of Winter, our homes and gardens come more into focus. We all give our homes its’ daily and weekly clean, but it’s a great time of year to really look into every nook and cranny and clean the spots that have been neglected over the Winter months or that you don’t get to very often.
Yesterday, I mopped the floors, changed the bed clothes and dusted the living room. I had the windows opened, and with the new daffodils I bought and the sun streaming in, the apartment felt really nice. I love Spring and can’t wait for Summer to arrive!
So with Spring Cleaning in mind, today’s post mentions just a few spots in the house that often go unnoticed but might need a little sprucing up!
1. Small Applicances
The toaster, kettle, coffee machine, sandwich maker, food mixer – these are all small appliances that could be on your counters. As you’re cooking in the kitchen they’re attracting oil, steam and grime. They’re also used every day. So next time you’re cleaning your counters, gives these appliances a wipe down and bring them back to their sparkling best!
2. The side of the dishwasher
Open your dishwasher, and look down either side of it. Bet it’s covered in tea stains and grime and mould! Ew! Grab a sponge or a wipe and clean it too! And don’t forget the top where the buttons are!
3. Sink hole and plugs
It is pretty obvious when a sink gets dirty but if your sink has a plug hole with a button plug like this one, you might want to take a closer look. Take it out because as it’s covered in water every day, water mould can grow on it. How lovely! This might need a clean! Especially if it’s in the bathroom!
4. Top corners, coving and cornices
Next time you’re vacuuming, look up! Spiders webs and dust easily accumulate in the corners, coving and cornices. So take a brush to them before your finish vacuuming.
5. Cutlery drawers
Probably the busiest drawer in your kitchen. A magnet for crumbs! Next time the dishwasher is full and the cutlery drawer almost empty, take the opportunity to take it out and clean it! You probably won’t realise how dirty it was until it’s clean!

For me, next up is my office. This needs to be cleaned which is job one. After last week’s workshop, it’s like a bomb hit it! I’m also going to change it’s design and it needs to be painted. I meant to get it done earlier but I’ve been so busy, I haven’t got started on it yet. The goal now is for it to be done by Summer!
Let me know what Spring Cleaning you’re doing and if you have any cleaning tips!
Happy Organising!
