Hi everyone, Happy New Year! 🄳 I am quite late on my planning for this year, but I have started this week thinking it through. I hope to put things down on paper over the weekend. While we can start over at any time of the year, I really do believe in

1. A deadline and

2. Giving ourselves a kick in the a** sometimes.

I haven’t done any vision boarding / goal setting the last year or so, and I felt I missed it. So I do need to move myself and get things written down. I did a great workshop online this morning with the All Ireland Business Foundation and Gerry Duffy, so I want to review my notes, take some time out to have more of a think about what I wrote and really firm things up.

I have two big personal goals this year (and a few mini ones). For the business there are also two big goals and a few mini ones šŸ˜‚ I’m getting quite specific with my goal setting this year. And then I always have a list of things I want to do around the house which is what I’ll share with you today.

Yes it’s that time of year again, when I see what needs to be done around the home. Here was last year’s one – let’s review that shall we?!

So in 2024 I wanted to do the below – how did I do?

I’m pretty happy with that actually!! 😃 I didn’t realise how much I had got done this year until I looked back over it.

Which is why it’s so good to write down goals, keep them in sight and then look back and review. You can see that for my goal I didn’t just write ā€œorganise kitchenā€ or ā€œdecorate living roomā€. I was more specific with what EXACTLY I wanted to do in each room.

The master bedroom was a big goal for me, so I’m delighted with how that turned out. Very zen and minimal in there now. The living room I didn’t get to finish, so that will be the big one for this year. We got it half way with new cabinets, but it’s not fully finished at all.

So for this year what will I be up to:

Bathroom:

Paint entire room
New storage
New dƩcor
New towels

Hallway Cupboard:

Paint space
Add hooks / storage

Spare room:

Move furniture around to test space
Replace office chairs
Hang some artwork
Re-style diskspace

Living room:

Replace table & chairs
Hang artwork
Organise cabinets
Buy nicer pots for my plants
Style sideboard

Now my partner and I were discussing the other day how we feel the whole place needs a good declutter. His wardrobe in particular is chaos šŸ˜‚ But at least it’s contained chaos! We don’t have much, but even what we do have we feel is getting in the way. So all rooms will also be reviewed clutter wise!

And perhaps we might even move by year end! šŸ¤žšŸ¤žšŸ¤ž That’s the biggest goal ever but you never know!

What are your home organisation plans for this year?! Let me know in the comments below!
