Our 21 Days Get Organised series came to an end last Sunday! Did you join in? Let us know in the comments below. We had great fun recording it and watching everyone take part! If you missed it, you can watch the tasks back here. You might like to dip in and out of the various challenges at your own pace.
On Saturday, the penultimate task was to go around the house and take note of any odd jobs that need to be done.
In my day job, during the Home Assessment with clients, very often DIY and odd jobs that have been outstanding for a long time are affecting the organisation within the house. Shelves that are broken, door knobs that are missing, photos that need to be hung up…these jobs are constant to-do’s in our very busy lives. And wouldn’t it be great to just get them done and dusted and out of the way!
So I wanted to include that task in the 21 Day series and I’ve gone one better today and actually created a checklist for you to download and use as you go around the house.
If you didn’t do our Day 20 task, download this checklist now and take a tour around the house. Write down all the spots that require fixing and touch ups. Perhaps you’d like to re-paint the spare room, hang up some art, put batteries into the clock, fix the bedroom curtain rail. Once these jobs are down on the list, you can make arrangements for a handyman to come in and get them done. Hire him/ her for one day and get them to do all these small jobs in one foul swoop! It’s more efficient time and money wise for everyone. You’ll be thanking God that work is done…you can thank me later! 🙂
