I’ve been asked a few times lately how exactly do our sessions work — so I thought I’d give a step-by-step guide to working with Organised Chaos in case you are wondering too!
We know that inviting someone into your home — especially when you’re feeling overwhelmed — can feel like a big step. It’s a big deal letting strangers into your private space. That’s why our approach is always kind, supportive, and completely judgement-free. We’re not just there to move things around. We’re there to help you regain control, find clarity, and create space for yourself again.
Here’s What to Expect:
1. Discovery Call
We start with a friendly call to chat about your project — what’s working, what’s not, and how you’d like your space to feel. This is a chance for us to get to know you and understand the emotional and practical elements of the space.
2. Photos & Planning
Next, we’ll ask for some photos so we can understand the scope of the work and provide guidance on timelines, team size, and a cost estimate.
3. Storage Planning
Before the session, we’ll chat about storage. You can either purchase items from a personalised list we provide, or we can supply them and bring everything with us (for an additional fee).
4. Session Day
Each session lasts 6 hours: 3 in the morning, a lunch break, and 3 in the afternoon.
- Morning: We focus on decluttering. This is when we need you most — to help make decisions about what’s staying and what’s going. We manage everything else: lifting, sorting, packing. You simply decide.
- Afternoon: We move into organising — creating systems, zones, and storage that actually work for your lifestyle.
5. The Finish Line
We never leave your home in a mess. If more than one day is needed, we leave things clear and set up so we can seamlessly pick up where we left off. Everything is labelled, bags are sorted into bin, recycling, and charity, and we can even arrange a donation pickup with one of our charity partners if needed.
The number of days you require depends on:
- How much stuff you have
- Any unexpected excavated while on site
- Speed of your decision making
Some homes will require on On-Site Consultation first also if they are trickier. All house moves require this for example. Some projects can be done with one Organiser, whereas others need two. All house moves again will have minimum two Organisers on the job. All of this is figured out with that first Discovery Call when we chat with you.
Have a look here for a recent project we did. And of course check out our Instagram for update on projects there too!
Our goal is not just to give you an organised home — it’s to give you relief, breathing room, and a sense of ownership over your space again. You don’t need to do this alone.
You are important and investing in your space is investing in you 💞
If you’re ready to take the first step, we’d love to help!
Happy Organising!
